ESCMID Funded Observerships offer an excellent opportunity to gain experience and exchange knowledge with colleagues in the fields of clinical microbiology (CM) and infectious diseases (ID). More than 100 ESCMID Collaborative Centres (ECCs) provide observership opportunities for ESCMID members. Participants may receive funding of up to 2K EUR to support their observership experience and help ensure a smooth visit.
Funded observerships are designed to facilitate international training and collaboration among Young Scientist Members (YSM) and members from low- or lower-middle-income countries (LMICs) fulfilling the criteria of YSM. This exciting international exchange programme involves experts in the fields of CM and ID. Spanning five days to one month, ESCMID funded observerships enable participants to improve clinical and laboratory practice in their home institutions through a dynamic synergy of shared knowledge and expertise.
50 ESCMID observership calls are usually held twice a year.
