The Trainee Association of ESCMID (TAE) would like to invite you to the upcoming Virtual Round Tables, where you can meet experts in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology on specialised topics.
This format offers young professionals a unique chance to get inspiration from experts who were once in the same position at the crossroads of their career path. It also offers young professionals the perfect opportunity to establish links and network with senior experts and professionals at the start of their career.
TAE Day is organised every year at ESCMID Global by the Trainee Association of ESCMID (TAE). This session targets CM and ID trainees to take part in round table-type sessions, where they have the chance to informally interact with renowned experts in the field of CM and ID. This way, they can get inspiration from the experts, discuss the main challenges and decisions during clinical and/or research careers, get career advice, learn about career/research opportunities and strengthen their network.

The ESCMID TAE Steering Committee meticulously reviews applications, while the final approval rests with the ESCMID EC. Notifications regarding the outcome of the award selection process will be sent to recipients in December. Successful applicants will have their names showcased on the ESCMID Global website and featured in other ESCMID publications, celebrating their achievements on a global scale. The TAE Outstanding Trainee Award comes with a generous prize of 1,000 EUR, along with additional perks, which include coverage for travel expenses to ESCMID Global (up to 500 EUR), ESCMID Global registration fees, travel to the ESCMID Summer School (up to 500 EUR), Summer School registration fees, and accommodation. After the event, reimbursement of registration and travel expenses will be facilitated, upon submission of proof of attendance and expenses paid by the awardee.
Important: Availability to attend both the ESCMID Summer School 2027 and ESCMID Global 2027 is a mandatory requirement for this award.
