The travel grant includes a free ESCMID Global onsite registration and a pre-paid credit card worth 500 CHF. It is important to note that the travel allowance is exclusively available to awardees who participate onsite and will be distributed during the Young Scientist Reception at ESCMID Global. If awardees cannot join us onsite, they can still benefit from the free registration.

Recipients of the ESCMID Global travel grant are presenting authors of the highest-rated, accepted abstracts who have applied for the grant during the abstract submission process. The names of successful applicants may be showcased on the ESCMID Global official website and in other ESCMID publications, highlighting their outstanding achievements and contributions to the Society and the scientific community as a whole.

Each year, applications for outreach grants are welcomed during regular abstract submission as part of the abstract submission process.
Grant applications will undergo careful evaluation by the ESCMID team. Notifications regarding the outcome of the grant selection process are sent in January. For those selected as a grant recipient, your name may be showcased on the ESCMID Global official website and featured in esteemed ESCMID publications, highlighting the remarkable achievements and contributions of grant recipients to the Clinical Microbiology (CM) and Infectious Diseases (ID) community.
The LMIC Grant covers the congress registration fee and offers a substantial travel allowance of up to 1.3K CHF to help offset the travel and accommodation costs of attending ESCMID Global on site. ESCMID encourages you to apply for the LMIC Grant if you meet the criteria below:
Applications can be made through the link on this webpage while the call for applications is open. Applicant must submit a short motivational letter (up to 500 words) and proof of residence in LMIC.
Grant applications will undergo an eligibility check, followed by the ESCMID internal committee selection. Notifications regarding the outcome of the grant selection will be sent at the end of October 2024. For those selected as grant recipients, your name may be showcased on the ESCMID Global official website.
Upon being selected as the deserving recipient of the ISF/ESCMID Sepsis Aware, the ISF will arrange for the 500 USD ($) prize to be sent via secure wire transfer directly to the bank account details provided by the awardee.
To be considered for this prestigious award, anyone with a sepsis-related ESCMID Global abstract, who is also a presenting author, may apply. Interested applicants should tick the related ISF/ESCMID Sepsis award box during abstract submission to indicate their interest in being recognised.
This prestigious nomination is granted to the presenter of the highest-rated sepsis-related ESCMID Global abstract submission. Chosen by the ISF steering committee, the award recipient is presented during a symposium jointly hosted by ISF and the ESCMID Global programme committee. The awardee must be present in person to accept this award. After the ceremony, the winner will be asked to deliver a short oral presentation highlighting their ground-breaking, award-winning research.The awardee’s name and the project title will be published in the ESCMID Global final programme, the ESCMID yearbook, and the ESCMID website to spotlight the work and inspire others. Applications for this opportunity are integrated into the abstract submission process for ESCMID Global each year.
