Leadership & Procedures

The Trainee Association of ESCMID (TAE) is represented and led by the TAE Steering Committee (SC), a dedicated group of eight emerging scientists and trainees nominated and elected by their peers. They are supported by the TAE's national representatives who ensure global representation and promote collaboration among trainees worldwide.

TAE Steering Committee Election 2024

In 2024, we are looking for three TAE Steering Committee (TAE SC) members. The resulting vacancies for a three-year term (from April 2025 to April 2028; after ESCMID Global) are to be filled with three new members.

The nomination will be open from 15 October until 13 November 2024.

Applicants should ensure that they meet the following criteria at the time of election (reference date is closing day of election 22 January 2025):

• Must be an ESCMID Young Scientist member (YSM) or LMIC member fulfilling the criteria of Young Scientist Membership
• Must have been ESCMID members in good standing for at least the past two years (i. e. they must be ESCMID members since 14 October 2022 or before)
• Are PhD/MD in training to specialise in CM, ID or in both CM/ID when elected
• ESCMID members who are in PhD training but not in a clinical/diagnostic ID/CM training are not eligible
• Have not previously been a member of the TAE Steering Committee (SC)
• Are not a member of any ESCMID Subcommittee or ESCMID Study Group Executive Committee
• Are not from the same country as current TAE members (Denmark, Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain)
