There are an increasing number of fraudulent attempts targeting ESCMID Global participants and faculty as well as ESCMID Members. Scammers claim to handle registration and accommodation on behalf of ESCMID Global to steal personal and financial information. These scammers scrape publicly accessible sources and contact speakers directly asking for information on hotel bookings, requesting credit card details, or providing fake invoices.
Please be assured that ESCMID maintains a very high level of data protection. You are strongly advised to use only the official ESCMID Global online registration for your bookings.
Please note that several travel agencies offer accommodation services around ESCMID Global. They are not partners of ESCMID and we do not recommend using them. ESCMID's official accommodation partner is Congrex. We recommend booking accommodation through them. Please visit the Accommodation page for more information.
Congrex is the ONLY official partner, responsible for hotel accommodation bookings. Beware that fraudulent companies are operating in disguise to “help” with bookings. All emails coming from an address other than @ESCMID or @congrex are not affiliated with us and should be avoided. If in doubt, please contact a member of the ESCMID team.
