Accessibility
ESCMID Global and Stockholmsmässan aim to be accessible to everyone. A limited number of manual wheelchairs are available for loan at the Information desk at the main entrance of Stockholmsmässan upon presentation of identification. The wheelchairs cannot be booked in advance.

A wheelchair-accessible elevator to the second floor is available in Gallery A. There is also an elevator down to Hall B and from the main entrance hall to the indoor parking space. If you need assistance, please contact the Information desk in the main entrance.

All of the fixed restaurants at Stockholmsmässan are wheelchair accessible.

Accessible restrooms are available near the entrances, in the exhibition halls and in the galleries. A map of accessible restrooms can be found here.

Stockholmsmässan has a hearing aid system for those with hearing aids. The hearing loop has its own radio receiver, which means you will hear the performance/lecture very clearly without disturbing background noise. These hearing aids are available in the following halls: Victoria Hall, K1, K2, K11, K21, T1, T2. If you have any questions during the event, please contact the Information Desk.

Accessibility on stages
Please note that special ramps might be needed to enter our stages by wheelchair. Please contact info(at)escmid.org well in advance in case you are invited to enter the stage as chair or speaker.

AI Connector
Your AI tools — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or others — can now connect directly to the congress programme, through the official ESCMID MCP connector. This free connector allows you to have a personal congress concierge in your pocket. Instead of scrolling through the programme manually, you can ask natural language questions like "What sessions on AMR are happening Friday morning?" and get relevant results back. App
The ESCMID Global 2027 app will be available in March and will serve as a guide for delegates to the congress programme, additional features, and networking with fellow attendees. The app will be available on both Google Play and the iOS App Store.

Art gallery
Every year, ESCMID welcomes art gallery submissions. This year’s theme is Invisible collaborators. More information can be found here.

ATM
There is no ATM in the venue. Please note that cards are accepted at the venue catering points.

Badges
All participants and exhibitors are required to wear their badges throughout the congress (09–13 April 2027). Access to the scientific sessions will only be possible with your personal full congress name badge. The replacement of a lost badge costs 100 EUR. A name change costs 50 EUR.

Beacons
ESCMID Global is rolling out an improved geolocation system in Stockholm. Bluetooth-based beacons will track attendance patterns in scientific sessions and the expo hall in order to help ESCMID better deliver personalised session recommendations and plan content for future events. The geolocation tags only function inside the congress venue and you may opt-out at any point by removing the tag from your lanyard Get your beacon paired and receive a complimentary ESCMID water bottle at the  Beacon Helpdesk next to Victoria Hall! 

Cameras and recordings
Electronic recording or excessive photography of presentation slides is prohibited in all lecture halls during all sessions. Most of the sessions are recorded and available within four hours on the platform.

Certificates and CME Points 
Initial certificates will be available on the ESCMID Certificates Portal as of Tuesday 13. April 2027 16:00 CEST, please visit ESCMID: Certificates and Accreditation to see which certificates are available as of this date. Certificates will not be printed onsite at ESCMID Global 2027.

ESCMID will apply again for CME points at EACCME for ESCMID Global 2027. However, ESCMID cannot be held liable for points granted/not granted and we will inform, if the event was successfully accredited by EACCME and that people can collect CME points for this event. We will inform via our website about the number of points latest in mid-March 2027, please visit ESCMID: Certificates and Accreditation 

Cloakroom/Luggage Storage
A cloakroom is available throughout the congress and is in the garage with the entrance next to the Main Entrance. 

Important: Suitcases that do not fit the onsite baggage sizers (maximum size: 55 × 42 × 26 cm) cannot be brought into the venue and must be checked and stored in the cloakroom. 

Even suitcases that fit the bag sizer cannot enter the Session Halls for fire safety. To accommodate this, 3 extra cloakrooms are available inside the venue for delegates to leave their bags when attending sessions. Please note, bags can only be left here during a session and must be picked up immediately after.  

Allowed items per attendee: 
One small bag (maximum size: 45 × 36 × 20 cm), such as a backpack, laptop bag, or handbag. 
One carry-on sized suitcase or travel bag (maximum size: 55 × 42 × 26 cm), which must fit the onsite bag sizers. 

Rules: 
A maximum of two items per person is allowed. 
If you carry both a backpack and a handbag, you cannot bring a suitcase or any additional item. 
All larger items must be stored in the cloakroom. Large luggage is strictly prohibited inside the venue.

Charging points
There are charging points located around the venue which Delegates are welcome to use to plug in, charge your devices, or work.

Childcare
Children are not allowed inside the venue; if childcare is required please contact info(at)escmid.org 

Congress Registration
Upon receiving registration payments by ESCMID, each participant will receive a registration confirmation by email. Barcodes are sent ten and again two days before the congress to all registered delegates. Please bring your registration confirmation and go directly to the badge self-print stations in the Entrance Hall. 

Delegates with group registration will receive information on how badges and congress materials are distributed from a group coordinator. 

If you plan to register onsite, please follow the signs to “New Registration”. You may pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or cash in EUR.

Currency
The currency in Sweden is Swedish krona (SEK). Card payments are standard, only a few stores accept cash. 

Defibrillators - AED
Stockholmsmässan is considered a Heart Safe Zone. There are a total of nine defibrillators on the Stockholmsmässan site. The defibrillators located in the public environment have electrodes suitable for both children and adults and are located in alarmed cabinets with a clear green round button. Dining in Stockholm
Swedish food culture combines traditional, hearty dishes with a modern and innovative culinary scene. Classic comfort food is often served without fuss, while restaurants increasingly offer a wide range of vegetarian and plant-based options.

Discover must-eats like meatballs (köttbullar), cured salmon (gravad lax), or enjoy a Swedish Fika with a cinnamon bun (kanelbulle) or princess cake (prinsesstårta). The daily coffee break, ‘fika’, is an important social and workplace tradition. 

Typical weekday mealtimes are breakfast between 07:00–09:00, lunch from 11:30 to 13:30, and dinner from around 17:30–20:30. Many restaurants are open late, particularly in central areas, and it is often advisable to make dinner reservations. Search for restaurants and make reservations and for inspiration, enjoy the guides.

Electricity supply
Sweden uses type C and F outlets with a voltage of 230V and a frequency of 50Hz. Check if you need an adapter for your electronic devices.

Emergency
In the event of an emergency,  please approach a member of congress staff or security staff onsite. Dialing 112 from any phone will connect you to the emergency services. The dispatch centre will redirect the call accordingly for the type of request to the appropriate emergency service.

Exhibition
The exhibition is located in Hall A. Directions are visible through signage and on the mobile app.

First Aid
The first aid station is located in front of Hall A, past ESCMID World. Please refer to the floor plan for more details. In the event of an emergency, please approach a member of Congress staff or security staff on-site.

Hotels
Please avoid booking through websites that claim they are working for ESCMID Global. In case of any questions, please contact ESCMID. ESCMID is not responsible for fraudulent bookings made through any other channel than the official ESCMID Global provider. Congrex Switzerland is the official congress partner for hotel accommodation and is the only agency offering accommodation on behalf of ESCMID Global.

Info points
Info Points can be found in every Hall. Please note that the Exhibition Helpdesk is located in Hall A, and the Poster Helpdesk which also acts as an info point is located in Hall B. Please see the venue map for more information. 

Insurance
The congress organisers accept no liability for any injuries sustained, or any property loss or damage during, or because of the congress. Please ensure that your insurance is valid.

Keynote Fireplace
Fireplace sessions are open discussions held right after the Keynote Lecture or Interview, designed to create an informal and interactive setting. They provide an opportunity for ESCMID trainees and early career members to engage with experts, ask questions, and exchange ideas in a relaxed environment. The Fireplace Room is located behind Victoria Hall. Hostesses will guide you to the Fireplace Room after the Keynote sessions.

Lactation Room
The lactation room is located in the Entrance Hall. Please note that the lactation room has a sink, but no refrigerator or freezer. 

Language
The official language of ESCMID Global is English. The official language in Sweden is Swedish.

Lost and Found
Items found within the venue will be collected by the staff and brought to the Registration Helpdesk for the duration of the congress.

Mobile phone policy
You are kindly asked that calls are not made during sessions, and your phones switched to silent mode during all sessions. Pictures should not be taken during sessions to respect speakers' privacy as well as the copyright of the presented material.

Opening Ceremony
The ESCMID Global opening ceremony will take place on Saturday 10.04.2027, in Victoria Hall at 18:30 CEST. A reception will follow. 

Parking
Parking is available in the Stockholmsmässan garage and open lots around the venue.

The easiest way to pay is with the EasyPark or Parkster payment apps. The area code is clearly indicated at each parking area.

• In the garage it costs 65 SEK/hour or 190 SEK/day until 20:00
• Outdoors it costs 55 SEK/hour or 170 SEK/day until 20:00

In addition to the above fees, a transaction fee may apply depending on the app and contract you have. The payment machines also take cards. More information here.

Photobooth
The theme of this year's photobooth will be Viking Voyage. One print will be offered per person, for the entirety of ESCMID Global. The photobooth is located in Hall A.

Official ESCMID Global photographers are responsible for capturing and preserving moments during the event, including the sessions, throughout ESCMID Global. A selection of these photos will be uploaded on the website.

Press Centre
The Press Centre is located on the first-floor Entrance Hall.

Printing Services
If printing is required, ESCMID Global offers a normal copy service for a fee. This is found in the foyer of the Scandic Talk Hotel. The hotel ca be accessed directly from the venue during congress opening times. 

Recycling
ESCMID Global is committed to sustainability. Throughout the venue, you will find both separated recycling bins and general waste bins. All waste is sorted and managed by Stockholmsmässan.

Registration Desk
The registration area is found in the Entrance Hall. A self-badge printing station is also located inside the foyer of the Scandic Talk hotel.

Tax
Stockholm does not impose any tourist tax on accommodation or on arrival, which may simplify travel arrangements and reduce costs. In Sweden, VAT (value-added tax) is usually included in the price of goods and services. The standard VAT rate is 25%, but for certain items like food it is lower.

Taxis
Stockholm offers a wide range of taxi services, including local operators and international providers such as Uber and Bolt.

For a smooth and predictable experience, we recommend booking your taxi in advance via the apps in the link. This allows you to see the price upfront and secure transport, whether travelling within the city, or to and from your hotel or the airports.

Please note that taxi fares in Sweden are not regulated and may vary significantly. If taking a taxi from the street, always check the price on the yellow-and-white label on the rear door before entering.

Time zone
Sweden is in Central European Time (CET), which is UTC+1. During daylight saving time, it is UTC+2.

Transport
Stockholm has an extensive and reliable public transport network operated by SL (Storstockholms Lokaltrafik), including metro, commuter trains, buses, and trams. 

For travel to and from Stockholmsmässan, Älvsjö Station is the most convenient public transport stop. More details found on our venue page here.

Travelling by car
Stockholmsmässan can also be reached by car and offers parking facilities nearby. It is recommended to allow extra travel time during peak traffic hours.

Water Stations
During the congress, there will be free water stations available, located throughout the venue. Tap water is drinking water! 

Cups are not provided, so ESCMID encourages you to bring one to refill, or pick one up with your beacon, at the Beacon Helpdesk.
