The IPC Nurses Corner

The IPC Nurses Corner is a new European initiative dedicated to connecting, empowering, and supporting infection prevention and control (IPC) nurses across all healthcare settings. Developed under the umbrella of EUCIC and aligned with the goals of EU-JAMRAI 2, the network offers a professional space where nurses can grow, share, and lead — together. Participation is open to IPC nurses from Europe and beyond — working in hospitals, long-term care, ambulatory care, or community settings. Whether you are new to the role or highly experienced, this network is for you.

Quarterly Virtual Online Sessions

Every three months, the network organizes a 60-minute interactive online session to share reflection, experiences, challenges, find practical solutions to daily questions/issues, build guidance, and bring mutual support in IPC. These peer exchange sessions in English languages include short IPC professionals-led presentations, altogether or breakout discussions.

Examples of General Topics:

  • Experiences with the WHO multimodal IPC improvement strategy
  • Managing IPC audits and feedback across departments
  • IPC in home care and long-term care
  • Handling resistance to change or reluctance in IPC practice
  • Novel approaches, e.g.: Nurse-led antimicrobial stewardship projects
  • Methods for education/training and communications

Dates for the next online sessions are shown below. All registered members will receive a Teams invitation for the webinars.

The IPC Nurses Network

The network facilitates an informal voluntary peer system, where nurses can establish collaboration with colleagues from another countries or setting to:

  • Reflect on current practice
  • Build mutual confidence and international insight
  • Support peers in under-resourced or isolated contexts
  • Optionally act as a mentor or mentee based on experience

Matching is flexible and based on shared interest areas or IPC roles.
