EUCIC is collaborating in a Joint Action with Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections 2 (EU-JAMRAI 2) launched in February 2024. The aim is to establish a peer-to-peer (P2P) exchange programme and develop mentorship and observership programme for the coming three years (2025-2027).
Quarterly webinars are organized to address essential topics in infection prevention and control (IPC). This initiative aims to provide valuable insights in partnership with key groups working in this field.

Peer-to-peer (P2P) means the sharing of practices and experiences between professionals at the same level. In EU-JAMRAI 2 this means: partner-to-partner. The « peers » work collaboratively, each contributing equally to the process. Regular meetings or virtual sessions will be arranged for participants to review each other’s practices and provide constructive feedback. This may include discussions and exchanging of daily routine practices, strategic ideas, tools and materials.

A mentorship programme is based on a match of a mentor with a mentee or mentees working within a similar IPC implementation activity or towards a specific IPC goal in the organisation. We are planning to facilitate matching of partners one-to-one or as groups, in a longitudinal way, with meetings defined on a specific frequency. This matching will support the participants through the period of their implementation activity.
EUCIC are organising future peer-to-peer events through an online platform, virtual roundtables and peer-to-per group discussions.
The IPC Nurses Corner is a new European initiative dedicated to connecting, empowering, and supporting infection prevention and control (IPC) nurses across all healthcare settings. Developed under the umbrella of EUCIC and aligned with the goals of EU-JAMRAI 2, the network offers a professional space where nurses can grow, share, and lead — together. Participation is open to IPC nurses from Europe and beyond — working in hospitals, long-term care, ambulatory care, or community settings. Whether you are new to the role or highly experienced, this network is for you.
One aim of the EU-JAMRAI 2 WP7 is to support partners in the implementation of IPC core components at national and local level with an overarching goal to peer-to-peer support between IPC professionals across Europe and to build relationships with European expert mentors. This program is carried out in close collaboration with EUCIC.
A consistent literature review in IPC is performed three times per year, with slides provided, 1 slide = 1 article displayed.
Publications include targeted papers created or supported by EUCIC.
