Emerging infections provide a unique set of challenges where this subcommittee must maintain vigilance and readiness to respond rapidly to unforeseen threats. Swift and effective analysis, communication and coordination is needed to address these challenges and as such, the subcommittee aims to serve as a coordinating body for a larger network of expertise that can be drawn upon when needed.
