In April 2026, Annelies Zinkernagel, Anu Kantele and José Ramón Paño-Pardo will end their terms on the ESCMID Executive Committee. Therefore, elections will be held among the membership at the end of 2025, to fill three positions (out of eight) in the ESCMID Executive Committee representing infectious diseases (ID). José Ramón Paño-Pardo will stand for re-election, so he will go directly to the ballot.
The Nomination Subcommittee encourages you to propose candidates, taking into consideration their professional excellence, leadership abilities in managing complex organizations, communication skills and contributions to the activities of ESCMID.
Each ESCMID member has the right to nominate three (3) ID specialists.
Since no more than one ESCMID Executive Committee member may come from the same country, nominations for candidates from countries of already confirmed ESCMID Executive Committee members cannot be accepted for the next term. These countries are Denmark, United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Netherlands. Additionally, nominees who have failed to be elected for two consecutive years, may not be nominated again.
