This exciting one-week programme offers participants the chance to connect with professionals from around the world and build important professional skills that will impact their lives and careers.
The 25th edition of ESCMID Summer School will take place in Zagreb, Croatia, 27 June – 03 July 2027.
Featuring an experienced faculty board with a range of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases lectures, attendees will benefit from a workshop-style setting and have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practical exercises. A special session is dedicated to student presentations, offering the opportunity to share personal experiences and enhance presentation skills through feedback from recognised experts. Do not miss this memorable and enriching experience with ESCMID.
ESCMID Summer School is open to ESCMID members and non-members currently enrolled in or holding a postgraduate degree in fields such as infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, or related disciplines.
To be announced
Registration fees cover access to lectures, educational material, 6 nights accommodation in a single room (27 June – 03 July), breakfasts, lunches, and coffee breaks.
Attendance grant recipients will be accommodated in double rooms (2 person occupancy). Please note the attendance grant will not cover travel expenses.
At ESCMID Summer School, participants develop and build on their public speaking skills, receiving feedback from faculty and peers. The student presentations will consist of a 5-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes of feedback. The 10-minute oral presentation is an effective way to try out new ideas and improve one's public speaking skills. The presentation topic can be a clinical case study or a research project. The session will focus on improving presentation skills rather than discussing the topic.
During registration, participants are requested to disclose the topic they will present. A week before the start of Summer School, organisers will reach out to participants sharing a tutorial video and a template slide.
Each year, ESCMID Summer School applies for accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®).
Participants can only receive the number of credits according to actual participation in the event and upon completion of the feedback survey.
Each year, the ESCMID Education Team applies for compliance according to the Ethical MedTech regulation.
Participants are responsible for arranging their own visas and ensuring they meet all entry requirements for the host country of ESCMID Summer School. We recommend checking with the respective embassy or consulate well in advance to allow sufficient processing time. If you need an invitation letter to apply for a visa, please email courses(at)escmid.org.
