ESCMID has a forward-thinking vision to provide strong support to professionals practicing within the fields of Clinical Microbiology (CM), Infection Control (IC), and ID, by producing rigorous and trustworthy clinical practice guidelines. To reach this result, ESCMID is committed to always selecting cutting-edge topics, employing an independent and robust methodology, and carefully monitor conflict of interest of panel members. In pursuit of excellence, all ESCMID guidelines projects follow strict procedures for evidence appraisal and data extraction, with the help of a dedicated group of well-trained young professionals, the Evidence Review Group (ERG).
