This course provides a comprehensive overview of how clinical breakpoints for antimicrobial agents are established using EUCAST criteria and methods. It covers the integration of microbiological, clinical, and pharmacological data, and addresses challenges in interpreting antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) results. Participants will become familiar with EUCAST documents and learn how to use them effectively. The course includes practical laboratory sessions, offering both theoretical insights and hands-on experience. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss potential barriers to achieving a high level of laboratory proficiency and will receive guidance on ensuring quality, accuracy, and reliability in AST.
