New ESGPHM Executive Committee elected
Over the course of the pas years the new ESGPHM Executive Committee been elected and for the year 2022-2024 will be:

- Olivier Vandenberg, Belgium
- Titia Kortbeek, Netherlands
- Pikka Jokelainen, Denmark
- Surabhi Taori, UK
We thank all previous Executive Committee for their excellent work over the last years. We are looking forward to continuing this work.

ESCMID Postgraduate Technical Workshop

Emerging infections for clinicians and the WHO Emerging Diseases Clinical Assessment and Response Network
Co-organised by ESGMD, ESGMYC, ESGITM and ESGPHM
Florence, Italy, 13 – 15 May 2019
This workshop aims to bridge the gap between advanced diagnostics (such as metagenomics and whole genome sequencing) and clinical practice. The program will include presentation of diagnostic methods and diagnostic strategies, as well as case stories presented by clinicians. The last day is focused on the emergency teams deployed by the WHO in collaboration with the WHO Emerging Diseases Clinical Assessment and Response Network (EDCARN).

ESGPHM is a newly formed ESCMID Study Group, which has started its activities in the field of public health microbiology.
First plans:
- Organize an educational workshop about new insights and methods for public health microbiology
- Organize a course for clinical microbiologists and infectious disease specialist on PHM issues
- Publications: papers on public health issues
