Nathan Peiffer-Smadja coordinates the French network of young ID doctors (RéJIF) that accompanies French residents through their training and encourages them to study abroad.

Nathan teaches infectious diseases at the Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital (AP-HP) and at Université de Paris medical school and nursing school. He is co-supervising two master students in an international research project on a decision support system for antimicrobial prescribing involving France, Burkina Faso, the Ivory Coast, Mali, Gabon and Senegal. 

Patient and public involvement is one of Nathan’s passions. He has organized community events for the general public about the use of new technologies for health purposes in the UK, with Imperial College London, and in France with Inserm. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nathan has been deeply involved in science information, education and communication on Twitter and public media. He has recently joined the Halo initiative supported by the United Nations to improve vaccine confidence through the use of Tiktok.
