Affiliated Societies
Specialist societies may sign an affiliation agreement with ESCMID. The objective of affiliation is to promote the wider interests of both organisations. ESCMID affiliation shall strengthen the cooperation among the specialist societies in the field of human infection and foster the advancement of science, education and professional affairs worldwide. Affiliated societies are normally represented by their presidents. Affiliation is subject to approval by the Executive Committee. During the ESCMID annual congress representatives of the societies meet to discuss various issues of common interest.
Affiliated Societies have the opportunity to propose symposia, keynote lectues or Meet-the-Expert sessions for ECCMID as well as to make post-graduate educational course proposals for the following year. Members of affiliated societies are entitled to receive ESCMID's Weekly News by email through the headquarters of their parent organisation. Affiliated societies can also send information about their events, which will be published in the Calendar of Events on the ESCMID website.
An affiliation application form can be downloaded from this webpage and submitted for approval. Annual affiliation fee per society:
< 100 members – EUR 100
≥ 100 and < 1000 members – EUR 250
≥ 1000 members – EUR 500
AS from low- and middle-income countries (according to the World Bank Classification) – EUR 50
Applying societies should wait for approval before transferring any fees. Invoices will be sent towards the end of each year.
