Description:
The 2nd South Asian Melioidosis Congress aims to raise awareness of melioidosis in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Pakistan. The disease is often missed or under-diagnosed in these countries and revealing the hidden burden of infection requires the co-operation of microbiologists, epidemiologists, infectious disease specialists and public health personnel.

The 2nd SAMC will allow researchers and clinical personnel to meet and learn from global experts on the disease and develop collaborations within and between countries in the region and groups overseas with the ultimate goal of reducing the morbidity and mortality of this potentially fatal infection.

Attendance Grants:
ESCMID provides a number of attendance grants for ESCMID “young scientist members”. The grant covers the registration fee, but not travel or accommodation costs. Please apply HERE before 31 July 2017. Applicants will be informed about their acceptance by 9 August 2017.
