ESGCP Travel Grant for ECCMID 2023

The ESGCP have decided to announce the possibility of applying for an attendance and travel grant for ECCMID 2023 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The ESGCP will support 5 Young Scientist Members with accepted abstracts in the field of parasitology with 1000 Euros each to attend ECCMID onsite.
Applicants must be ESCMID Young Scientist Members as well as a member of ESGCP and be the presenter of an accepted abstract for ECCMID 2023. Please see the full application criteria and process here.
The deadline to apply is 15th Februray 2023.

ESCMID Postgraduate Education Course

Paratisology Workshop
Co-organised by ESGCP and ESCMID
25 – 26 May 2021, Online
This interactive online workshop will provide a fun scientific window into the parasitic infections of importance for routine clinical practice in European countries. The focus of lectures will be imported blood and faecal parasites as seen in migrants and travellers to Europe.

ESCMID Postgraduate Education Course

ESCMID/ASID Course on Infectious Diseases in Pregnant Women, Fetuses and Newborns
Co-organised by ESGCP, ESCMID and the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases (ASID)
14 – 16 September 2018, Sydney, Australia
This course will provide updated information in aninterdisciplinary setting on: epidemiology and burden of infectious diseases in pregnancy and newborns; pathogenesis of maternal, fetal and neonatal infections; pre- and post-natal counselling for women regarding perinatal infections; collaborative diagnostic and clinical pathways for management of infections in pregnant women and newborns; prevention and therapy of vertically transmitted infections.

ESCMID Postgraduate Education Course

Workshop on Migrants’ Health
Co-organised by ESGCP, ESGVH, ESGEM, ESGMYC, the Ministry of Health of Oman, the ESCMID Task Force for Emerging Infections (EITaF), WHO EMRO, ECDC
8 – 10 March 2018 Muscat, Oman
Course Objectives: to highlight the initiatives for monitoring migrants’ health, prevent and control infectious diseases in migrants in GCC and EMRO; to discuss the impact of migrants on the health systems of the hosting countries especially for vaccine preventable diseases, importation of communicable diseases and AMR; to present the ways to enhance GCC / EMRO preparedness for infectious diseases in migrants during peace and conflict; to highlight the importance of intergovernmental and international organizations collaboration required to address migrants’ health needs in GCC / EMRO; to discuss the role and impact of migrants on the elimination programs for TB, malaria, HIV and hepatitis B and C viruses, and what strategies countries can follow to address the challenge; to discuss the ways on how countries can establish surveillance and integrated research for migrants’ health
