Eligibility criteria
- Open for European applicants only (as per ESCMID Observership standard procedures)
- Must be an ESCMID Young Scientist member or LMIC member fulfilling the criteria of Young Scientist Membership
- The visit shall take place between 2 and 4 weeks and occur any time from 1 April through 30 June 2024 (maybe not all costs can be covered by ESCMID, see section on funding below)
- No previous ESCMID Observership visit within the last 12 months
- Schedule of observership is defined by the Mayo Clinic
- Dates of visit must be agreed with the Mayo Clinic and must not be before 1 April 2024 or after 30 June 2024. Applicants who require a visa to visit the ECC country must take this into consideration when applying and choose dates that provide enough time to obtain a visa before the intended visit. ESCMID nor the ECC can guarantee flexibility in changing visit dates should a visa take longer. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that there is enough time to organise their travel and visa (if applicable) before the planned visit.
- Must include a letter of support from their supervisor showing how their institute would benefit from the learnings gained during the observership

Report
After the visit, the Observer will be required to complete the official evaluation forms including a report to be published on the ESCMID Collaborative Centre website or in other ESCMID publications (including the name of Observers).
