Open call for Editor-in-Chief of a new journal from ESCMID

The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) is launching a new Gold Open Access journal to expand its publishing portfolio next to the highly successful ESCMID journal - Clinical Microbiology and Infection.


For this reason, we are currently looking for an Editor-in-Chief that will shape the Editorial strategy of the new journal.


We are seeking highly qualified candidates with a track record of research in clinical microbiology or infectious diseases, as well as strong editorial and peer review experience and excellent communication skills. For more information and detailed requirements, please see job description.

  1. Curriculum vitae.
  2. A letter of interest, summarising your research and clinical career, including future prospects as well as your editorial experience and experience as a peer-reviewer.
  3. A statement summarising your views and goals for the new ESCMID journal. It should include practical suggestions on how to achieve these goals.
  4. A letter of endorsement from the management of the institution supporting the candidate in assuming the role.

EUCIC: Research Manager / Training Programme Coordinator

The UNIVERSITY OF VERONA is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of: Research Manager / Training Programme Coordinator to support the work of the European Committee on Infection Control (EUCIC).


EUCIC is a committee within the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) that aims to strengthen infection control and preventive measures in European countries to reduce the burden of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). This is achieved through a network offering resources and knowhow as well as the organization of training programmes and support structures.
