Movie session

Thank you to everyone who joined the ESCMID Global Movie Session 2026 — it was a great success!

This year’s session brought together science and cinema through the screening of Don’t Look Up (2021), sparking thoughtful discussion around some of today’s most pressing global health challenges.

The focus on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) led to a rich and engaging conversation. Using the film as a starting point, speakers and attendees explored important parallels with real-world issues, including science communication, public perception, policy response, and the urgent need for coordinated global action.

Following the screening, our expert panel delivered an insightful and lively discussion, highlighting the complexities of AMR and the critical role of awareness and collaboration in addressing it.
