Bringing the bench to ESCMID Global, the ESCMID Mobile Lab allows participants to get hands-on training with various microscopy-based and molecular techniques guided by experts in the field. These small group workshops focus on giving trainees and early-career researchers a chance to develop a new skill while attending ESCMID Global. If you would like to add any special workshops to your existing registration, please follow the steps below.
Please make sure not to book any overlapping courses, as you can only attend one course per time slot.
After the success of our first onsite hands-on workshops the ESCMID Mobile Lab is returning to ESCMID Global 2026 in Munich. Microscopy-based trainings will once again explore topics in parasitology organised and led by Claire Rogers, from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom. Additionally there will be 4 new sessions organised in collaboration with the ESCMID Fungal Infections Study Group (EFISG) and will explore fungal topics. During digital PCR (dPCR) trainings, led by Denise O’Sullivan and Alexandra Whale from the LGC Group, participants will be able to explore this cutting-edge technique.
The dPCR workshops are supported by Bio‑Rad Laboratories through the provision of latest Droplet Digital PCR instrumentation, reagents, consumables, and expert technical support.
