Diagnosis and management of Aspergillus diseases: executive summary of the 2017 ESCMID-ECMM-ERS guideline. Ullman et al., CMI 2018;24e1-e38
This paper has the goal to provide a comprehensive European guideline focusing on the life-threatening diseases caused by Aspergillus spp. It is the third fungal diagnosis and management clinical guideline published in cooperation with various European scientific societies. This part of the guideline regarding invasive and chronic aspergillosis is a condensation of all the recommendations made by the guideline subcommittees and is presented in tables for easier and faster reading.

A prospective international Aspergillus terreus survey: an EFISG, ISHAM and ECMM joint study. Risslegger et al., CMI 2017;23:776.e1-776.e5.
The aim of this study was to investigate the global prevalence of Aspergillus terreus species complex in fungal diseases and to survey amphotericin B susceptibility. A. terreus is a common cause of invasive aspergillosis at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, USA, and the University Hospital of Innsbruck, Austria. Almost no data were available on how frequently this species occurs elsewhere and whether differences within amphotericin B susceptibility exist. The results of this prospective international multicentre surveillance study show that the overall prevalence of A. terreus species complex among the investigated patients with mould-positive cultures was 5.2% (370 cases/7116, data from 21 countries). Amphotericin B MICs ranged from 0.125 to 32 mg/L, (median 8 mg/L).
