Call for course proposals!

The Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate provides meta- and European level competency in Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) through a 2-year training programme. It is a multidisciplinary effort involving international healthcare institutions. In order to effectively address the growing challenges posed by antimicrobial resistance, countries will need to work in a coordinated and collaborative manner. ESCMID invites healthcare institutions to submit course proposals for the ESCMID Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate 2022 - 2024.


Target audience: ID Physicians, Medical Microbiologists, Clinical Pharmac(olog)ists, ICU physicians, Internists, Specialist Nurses, Pediatricians and other medical specialties. Doctors in their final phase of training are also accepted.


Objective: Participants will be prepared for research and academic positions, teaching roles in national and international AMS organisations, professions in Antimicrobial Stewardship Programmes for healthcare institutions, and government positions.


Programme structure: During the 2-year programme, 14 learning areas are covered, which address basic and advanced aspects of AMS. The content will be delivered through both face-to-face and online training. Detailed information about the programme can be found here.
