ESCMID Conference on Escherichia coli: An Old Friend with New Tidings

Conference Objectives

Participants attending this workshop will learn about the pathogenesis, clinical aspects and treatment of the infections caused by Escherichia coli. In addition, an update on the current mechanisms of resistance to different antimicrobial agents and the transference of resistant determinants in E. coli will be presented.

Call for Abstracts
  1. Abstracts may be submitted only by email to the   before 1st October 2013.
  2. All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English using UK English spelling.
  3. Abstracts must contain original material neither published nor presented elsewhere prior to 20 November 2013.
  4. Please structure your abstract using the following headings:
    Objectives
    Methods
    Results
    Conclusion
  5. The abstract text may not be longer than 2,500 characters, including spaces. Tables, charts and other graphics are permitted and must be in JPG or GIF format and of high resolution.
  6. Authors will be notified of acceptance by 1st November 2013 by email.

Target Audience

The conference is targeted to approximately 100 participants including microbiologists, basic research scientists, infectious disease physicians and epidemiologists.

Registration Fee

ESCMID Members

  • Before and on 20 September 2013: EUR 300
  • After 20 September 2013: EUR 400

Non Members

  • Before and on 20 September 2013: EUR 500
  • After 20 September 2013: EUR 600

The registration fee includes the scientific sessions, printed conference material, lunches and coffee breaks, but not travel and accommodation costs.

ESCMID Attendance Grants

ESCMID provides a number of attendance grants preferentially for ESCMID “young scientist members”. The grant covers the registration fee, but not travel or accommodation costs. Please submit your application before 20 September 2013 online on this website (follow the link on the right). Applicants will be informed about their acceptance by 4 October 2013.

Please note that attendance grant application does not include registration for the course. Please register separately with the form supplied on the right.
