Activities in 2014

TAE Steering Committee Election 2014

We are pleased to announce the results of the TAE SC election 2014. The following candidates were elected by simple majority:

Infectious Disease

  • Alberto Enrico Maraolo (Napoli, Italy) with 28 votes

Clinical Microbiology

  • Erlangga Yusuf (Brussels, Belgium) with 47 votes

We congratulate the newly elected TAE SC members and welcome them to the TAE Steering Committee. We would also like to thank all candidates for their interest and active participation in the electoral procedure.

The Workshop was aimed at all practising Clinical/Medical microbiologists and Infectious Disease physicians, both senior and junior, who were interested in the future development of these medical specialities. The objectives were to review the status of Clinical/Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases across Europe, and to discuss initiatives to improve the organisational basis for medical practice in our disciplines.

Trainees Day at ECCMID 2014

Saturday, 10 May 2014, 13:30 – 16:45, Room 133/134

The Trainees Day took place in Barcelona on the afternoon of 10 May 2014. All trainees in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases were strongly advised to attend this session, which saw world renowned speakers covering topics including the threat of bioterrorism and the treatment of sepsis and STDs from both CM and ID perspectives.
