1. Resume

Short summary of skills, experience and career objective

“Prevention is better than cure”, that’s what taught us in Medical School. I had spent more than 5 years in treating patients at bed side. Number of times we had received patients from one geographical location. Why only this geographical region was involved? Is it communicable disease? How to control further spread? I was always searching for these answers, but by working on bedside I had found only few of them. I had seen number of outbreaks, either due to sanitation problem like Cholera or Hepatitis, or vector borne diseases like Dengue or Malaria. Most of these outbreaks were either prevented by prior preparation or stopped at early stage by timely intervention and that’s where Microbiology laboratory has major role to play. I had one specific question in my mind, how can I prevent those patients from coming to hospital and seeking medical care? And then finally I had joined Department of Microbiology. Although all the fields of Medicine subject are important, but as I said earlier I would like to make a difference by preventing normal “Person” to become a “Patient”. To advance my career in Infectious diseases, I had taken admission in Microbiology residency program. I had started to study Epidemiological pattern of Dengue infection and my work got rewarded by world’s largest microbiology society, American Society of Microbiology. I got eminent “Infectious Diseases Fellow” award & gave oral presentation as a speaker. My research was appreciated by many researchers around the world. I did work on other research projects & got reputed awards & scholarships in other international conferences, like “Global Health Travel Award” in keystone symposia, International Society of Infectious Diseases, International Society for Influenza & other Respiratory Virus Diseases, Global HIV Clinical forum, Herrenhausen Symposium. I had just completed “Diploma in Vaccinology” from Institut Pasteur, Paris. Now, I want to push myself to boundaries of high quality research.
