Course Objectives
  • Demonstrating how patients with cystic echinococcosis are managed with a stage-specific approach on an outpatient basis
  • Demonstrating diagnosis of different parasites with microscopical examination
  • Providing information on epidemiology, diagnosis, clinical management and follow-up of:
      – Cystic echinococcosis
      – Alveolar echinococcosis
      – Trichinellosis
      – Strongyloidosis
      – Toxocariasis
      – Giardiasis
      – Fascioliasis

The course will consist of a mix of practicals (clinical and laboratory) and lectures by expert scientists in the field and interactive group discussions.

Target Audience

20 – 50 young clinicians (experts in infectious diseases, surgeons, radiologists, hepatologists), epidemiologists, experts in public health, veterinarians, parasitologists, biologists or other health professionals and clinical researchers
involved in the field.

The course was granted 13 European CME credits (ECMEC) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
