Course Objectives

The course participants will be able to:

  • Review the current knowledge on epidemiology of carbapenemase-producers.
  • Recognise or suspect Carbapenemase-producing microorganisms at the laboratory level and proceed to further identification.
  • Understand and support the infection control issues which will prevent the spread of carbapenemase-producing microorganisms in their institutions.
  • Discuss treatment options against carbapenemase-producing pathogens as well as the appropriate antibiotic stewardship.
Target Audience

60 - 100 infectious disease physicians and clinical microbiologists
