The University Hospital Halle (Saale) is a nationally recognized expert for difficult, severe and rare diseases and injuries in southern

very close cooperation with the Medical Faculty of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. With more than 4,000 employees, the

over 40,000 inpatients and more than 120,000 outpatients ever year.
We are looking for a full-time Employee (42 hours/week) in the following position:
* Specialist in Clinical Microbiology / Clinical Virology

Responsibilities include but are not limited:
- Microbiological diagnostics in all areas of focus within the department (bacteriology, virology,
mycology, parasitology and infection serology).
- Microbiological advice to the cooperating clinical centers and medical private practices.
- Participation in the strategic development and growth of the department.
- Development of research projects of the department, as well as contribution of own research ideas.
- Participation in the teaching duties of the Department for students of Medicine and Dentistry.

Special requirements

- Completed or advanced specialist training in clinical microbiology or clinical virology.
- Excellent knowledge of German language (level B2/C1); knowledge of
English language (level B1/B2)
- Experience in Antibiotic Stewardship (ABS) Programs; basic IT skills
- Soft skills of the ideal candidate: Motivated, pro-active, eager to learn, excellent verbal and written communication skills in either (or both) German and English language, integrity and work ethic (a must), work readiness, teamwork ability; but also self-reliant, problem solving, good time management, commitment, flexible, innovative. Including any other core skills and traits that will become an addition and asset to the growth, improvement and advancement for the enrichment and progress of all
professionals within our university department.
