Acinetobacter Infections: Microbiological, Clinical and Therapeutical Aspects, ESCMID Postgraduate Education Course

3 - 5 September 2009, Istanbul, Turkey

Organized by the Turkish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (KLIMIK) and the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID).

Organizers
  • Necla Tülek, Samsun, TR
  • Çagr? Büke, Izmir, TR
  • Halis Akal?n, Bursa, TR
Course Objectives

Infections with Acinetobacter baumannii are of great concern for hospitalized patients, especially with multidrug-resistant strains. This course will focus on recent data that may help us to understand the mechanisms and epidemiology of antibiotic resistance of Acinetobacter spp. In addition, diagnostic, treatment, and preventive strategies for the infections with these resistant bacteria will be discussed.
