ECCMID Copenhagen numbers this week: 400 faculty members & 100 travel grantees

Everyone is working hard to finalise the ECCMID 2015 scientific programme. 400 faculty members have now accepted invitations to speak and chair. 100 travel grants of 500 Euro to young scientists have been granted.  More than 2500 abstracts for posters and oral presentations have been accepted.

New ESCMID Collaborative Centre at University of Liverpool


The institute offers a strong programme on antimicrobial pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PKPD) in experimental and clinical areas. There are now 75 Centres in 26 countries that offer Observerships to ESCMID members.

Marc Bonten is the 2015 ESCMID Excellence Awardee

We proudly recognise this outstanding individual for his contributions in Clinical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Infection Control. At ECCMID 2015, Marc Bonten will talk on “The modern ICU: are antibiotics used to save the patients or to soothe the minds of the doctors?”.

European national websites with Ebola guidelines

Members of the ESCMID Study Group for Infections in Travellers and Migrants (ESGITM) and the UEMS Section of Infectious Diseases (UEMS-ID) have compiled a list of national Ebola guideline websites from around Europe.
