Carolina Garcia-Vidal, Jason Roberts and Roy Sleator will receive their awards at ECCMID during the ESCMID Young Investigator Award session. During this session on 27 April 2015 at 14.30-15.30, each of them will give a 15-minute talk on their work.

Everyone is working hard to finalise the ECCMID 2015 scientific programme. 400 faculty members have now accepted invitations to speak and chair. 100 travel grants of 500 Euro to young scientists have been granted.  More than 2500 abstracts for posters and oral presentations have been accepted.

Members of the ESCMID Study Group for Infections in Travellers and Migrants (ESGITM) and the UEMS Section of Infectious Diseases (UEMS-ID) have compiled a list of national Ebola guideline websites from around Europe.

Registration for Summer School in Turkey 2015 is open!

Young professionals can now register for this one-week course with unique networking possibilities. This year’s edition is hosted at the modern and newly built Acibadem University in Istanbul from 4 – 11 July 2015. Besides hearing renowned faculty members speaking on diverse topics in CM & ID, the venue offers plenty of possibilities to get together and make this Summer School an unforgettable event!

Experts will present and lead discussions on the different topics: influenza, poliovirus, safety issues, pertussis, gastrointestinal infections, meningococcal control, HPV, and more. Direct and indirect benefits of vaccinations will be considered and analysed in detail.
