European Projects

ESCMID offers its expertise and experience in cooperating with other organizations on projects funded by the European Commission.

EUCAST, the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, is convened by ESCMID. This standing committee, supported by the ECDC, includes representatives of the European national breakpoint committees and the European countries. For guidance documents, clinical breakpoints,  antimicrobial wildtype distributions and other data see the EUCAST website.

ESCMID is a partner of GRACE, a Network of Excellence, devoted to the investigation and improvement of medical practice in the field of lower respiratory tract infection. Within the GRACE project ESCMID is responsible, together with ERS, for the educational platform. GRACE is funded by DG Research and runs from 1 Mar 2006 to 28 Feb 2011.

ESCMID is partner of the TROCAR project (Translational Research on Combating Antimicrobial Resistance), which is a research project funded by the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission. The driving concept of TROCAR is to investigate the fundamentals of the epidemiology of new highly virulent multiresistant strains.
