A PhD position is vacant at the Laboratory of Medical Microbiology (LMM), Vaccine & infectious Disease Institute, University of Antwerp.

Profile and requirements
• You hold a master degree in Bio-engineering, Biomedical sciences, Pharmaceutical sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or equivalent degrees.
• You have graduated with at least one distinction grade
• You have a strong interest in bacteriology and/or infectious diseases
• You can work both independently as well as in an international team
• You have the ability to accurately plan and perform laboratory experiments
• You have strong analytical thinking skills, an appropriate problem solving attitude, can approach complex issues in a systematic way and is a good planner to meet milestone and deliverable deadlines
• You are willing to travel abroad for short training periods or to international scientific meetings to present research results.
• Fluency in English is required
