The 11th International Meeting on Microbial Epidemiological Markers (IMMEM-11) will take place in Estoril, Portugal, from 9 – 12 March 2016. For the first time ESCMID members are eligible for reduced attendance fees and may apply for grants!

Antibiotic policy study group publishes newsletter on activities and awareness day

The newsletter of the ESCMID Study Group for Antibiotic Policies (ESGAP) contains news on the study group’s activities, its sessions at next year’s ECCMID congress, and on the European Antibiotic Awareness Day, which will take place on 18 November during the first World Antibiotic Awareness Week (WAAW) from 16 to 22 November 2015.

You have less than a month to apply for an ESCMID research grant!

The application period for next year’s ESCMID research grants is open until 7 October 2015 at noon CET. In addition to the regular grants worth EUR 20,000, ESCMID has reserved up to EUR 50,000 each for two excellently rated projects, where the reviewers see a great potential and are of the opinion that they merit additional funds to take the topic further. Please note that the application criteria and the related information have changed. In even years (2016) only projects dealing with bacterial infections are accepted, increasing the chances of the individual projects. In uneven years the focus is on fungal, viral and parasitic infections and diseases.
