Designing and implementing Point Prevalence Surveys of healthcare-associated infections and antibiotic use

 

This 3- day module will provide essential information:
• To detect HAIs and measure prescribed antimicrobials in acute care hospitals
• To implement a Point Prevalence Survey in a hospital
• To analyze the results using appropriate statistical methods
• To estimate the total burden (prevalence) of HAIs and antimicrobial use
• To identify effective ways to disseminate results to healthcare professionals and policy makers at   local, national and EU levels
