Integrated symposium at the 31st European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 2021

What are the treatment options
for CAP and cSSTI in 2021?

Thank you for your participation in ECCMID 2021!

The Pfizer-sponsored symposium at ECCMID 2021, ‘What are the treatment

options for CAP and cSSTI in 2021?’, was held on Sunday 11 July. In case

you missed it, please note it is also available on demand until 6 September 2021.

The symposium covered the contemporary treatment options in the care of complex patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). The expert panel also discussed treatment recommendations for complicated skin and soft-tissue infections (cSSTI). Faculty covered clinical case studies and appraised the evidence, allowing the attendees to gain a deep understanding of the rationale behind the latest guideline recommendations, especially the challenges faced by antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) and health economics in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Details of the full agenda and participating experts can be found below.
