Treating invasive mould disease in an era of complex epidemiology and patient needs

I am pleased to invite you to attend the industry-sponsored symposium, ‘Treating invasive mould disease in an era of complex epidemiology and patient needs’, taking place at this year’s meeting of the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) on Sunday 11 July, 2021 (13:15–15:15 [CEST]).

This symposium will explore the complexities of treating invasive mould disease (IMD) in real-world patient scenarios, as well as how to overcome these challenges. Focus will be given to the value of a diagnostic-driven approach to IMD and how this can be tailored to time- or resource-limited settings. Additionally, the complexities of antifungal PK/PD will be explored, with emphasis on drug–drug interactions and how this information can be used to select the most appropriate antifungal treatment. The symposium will conclude with a case study demonstrating how the learnings can be applied to a clinical setting.
