CMI Highlight: HCV-genotype 1 NS5A RAVs and advanced liver fibrosis

Parczewski et al characterized the differences in NS3 and NS5A resistance-associated variants (RAVs) frequencies among therapy naļve genotype 1a and 1b (G1a, G1b) HCV mono-infected and HIV/HCV-coinfected patients (n=387) and their association with liver fibrosis.

ESCMID is offering 9 attendance grants to the ICMH, to be held in Rome, Italy from 1 – 3 September. ESCMID members are eligible to apply for these grants, with preference for young scientists and students. Register now for the 5th conference of the ESCMID Study Group for Legionella Infections

ESCMID Study Group for Legionella Infections (ESGLI) will be held in Lyon (France) on 28 - 30 August 2018. The conference will cover a wide range of topics related to Legionella and Legionnaires’ disease, from basic microbial genetics and pathogenesis to applied aspects of detection, control and management. Speakers will present the latest scientific developments in various sessions: Epidemiology and surveillance, Microbe – Environment interactions – Environmental detection, Genetics – Genomics, Host – Microbe interactions / Immunology, Legionella typing, Legionella prevention and control strategies. The conference will bring together fundamental and applied research professionals.

This conference is a valuable and unique opportunity to meet other members of the community of European experts in Legionella. Participation by students and scientists in the early stages of their careers  is greatly encouraged.
