The abstracts for ECCMID from 22 - 25 April in Vienna will be published tomorrow. You will find them online in the scientific programme.

There are a few places left for the TAE Trainees Day, for which you may sign up when you register for ECCMID.

ECCMID offers presenters of paper posters the option to have their posters professionally printed, reviewed and shipped directly to the venue.

ESCMID organizes joint ECCMID session with EORTC and ICHS

ESCMID is a co-organizer of a joint session on infections in cancer patients, with the European Organisation for Research and Treatments of Cancer (EORTC) and the International Immunocompromised Host Society (ICHS). The session will be held on Saturday, 22 April 2017 from 16:30 - 18:30 at ECCMID. The objective is to focus on effective strategies for the treatment of infections in patients with cancer and recipients of stem cell transplants as well as other severely immunocompromised hosts. We will explore innovative approaches and new therapeutic and preventive measures.

CMI highlight: recommendations on nebulized antimicrobials in ventilated patients

Members of ESCMID Study Group for Infections in Critically Ill Patients (ESGCIP) have reviewed the current evidence around the use of aerosolized antibiotics to treat pneumonia in mechanically ventilated patients. Their efforts resulted in four technical requirements that should be followed to minimize treatment failure and adverse events in these patients.

EPASG/ISAP conference on anti-infective PK/PD in Vienna on 21 April

The ESCMID Study Group for PK/PD of Anti-Infectives together with the International Society of Anti-Infective Pharmacology are organizing the EPASG/ISAP conference on anti-infective pharmacogenetics and pharmacodynamics on 21 April 2017 in Vienna. The conference, which takes place right before ECCMID 2017, will bring together researchers and clinicians from various parts of the world to discuss pro and cons of current PK/PD strategies.
