Two ESCMID Guidelines projects under public consultation

ESCMID has opened public consultation phase for two clinical guidelines projects "Rituals and behaviours in the operating theatre" and "The EFLM European Urinalysis Guideline, update 2023". ESCMID members are welcome to comment on the manuscripts before the consultation phases close in early February. Learn more about the individual projects and how to get access on our website.

Open call for Editor-in-Chief of new ESCMID Journal

ESCMID is launching a new Gold Open Access journal to expand its publishing portfolio next to the highly successful ESCMID journal - Clinical Microbiology and Infection. For this reason, we are currently looking for highly qualified candidates to apply to be Editor-in-Chief and shape the Editorial strategy of the new journal. The aims of the course are to enable participants to diagnose and classify infectious diseases in the context of travel and migration and develop diagnostic strategies and treatment options for selected travel- and migration- associated infections.

International Conference on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (ICOHAR) 2023

ICOHAR is returning this year for the third time in Copenhagen, Denmark from 18-20 April, directly following ECCMID. The programme extends beyond zoonotic transfer of AMR to encompass the numerous AMR-related challenges shared by clinicians, clinical microbiologists, infectious disease specialists and researchers working in these sectors. Abstract submission is closing soon on January 30th so be sure to submit your research to be included and register before January 31st to avoid late fees.

ESCMID Course: Forensic medicine and management of pandemics

This ESCMID Online course will take place on 1-2 of March 2023 and cover lessons learned in forensic medicine that can help to improve their management in elderly and vulnerable patients. The course is organized by ESGFOR and ESGIE and reduced registrations will be available for trainees presenting a poster about forensic microbiology/ forensic pathology. EMA: Facilitating Decentralised Clinical Trials in the EU

The European Commission, the Heads of Medicines Agencies and the European Medicines Agency have published recommendations that aim to facilitate the conduct of decentralised clinical trials while safeguarding the rights and well-being of participants as well as the robustness and reliability of the data collected.
