Description
For the sixth consecutive year ESCMID is about to celebrate the International Day for Fighting Infection.
The conference will be held as usual on St. George’s Day, and its main topic will be how major scourges belonging to the past still show their ugly faces and still affect mankind.
The conference will be held at the University of Verona, Italy, where in 1546 Girolomo Fracastoro proposed that epidemic diseases were caused by transferable tiny particles able to transmit infection by direct or indirect contact.
