Viral Infections in Immunocompromised Patients

08.06.2017 - 09.06.2017 All day

The topic is a challenging and moving target – the population of immunocompromised patients (IC) is growing and viral infections are among the most common infection complications in those patients. Viral infections are associated with morbidity and mortality not only in transplant recipients but in all IC patients. The management of viral infections is complex and a multidisciplinary approach is needed regarding epidemiology, prevention and treatment. This course follows up with the ESCMID course held in Lausanne in 2015 which addressed a similar topic predominantly on transplant patients. This course covers all potential groups of IC patients and relevant viral infections including those after biological therapies. The top experts in the field serve as speakers and we expect very practically oriented lessons with updated and recent data from research. Interesting interactive case presentations are also planned.
