Introduction to Whole Genome Sequencing and Analysis for Microbial Diagnostics

27.03.2017 - 29.03.2017 All day

Event description:
DNA sequencing technology has developed tremendously, making one of the current challenges how to easily extract information from the sequence data for use in a clinical or food-safety microbiological context. The Center for Genomic Epidemiology (CGE) at the Technical University of Denmark has developed free, web-based bioinformatic tools for exactly this purpose. For the fifth time, we offer the possibility to learn how to use these tools for, e.g. typing, identifying plasmids, antibiotic resistance and virulence genes, and for phylogenetic analysis. The suggested audience is microbiologists and medical doctors with no or limited experience with whole genome sequence data.
