The new methodologies are constantly providing information about the taxonomy, antimicrobial resistance, virulence and biology of this genus, all of which have made it possible to develop new strategies for treating infections and for its surveillance and control. Interesting new fields include the potential use of adjuvant therapies, the role of phages, or the development of immunotherapy.
