Description:
Biofilms are responsible for 80% of total microbial infections. The objective of this workshop will be to strengthen the updated knowledge about biofilms and analyse the future in the study of this field. The conference will address five subjects:

• structure and function of biofilms on different microorganisms
• methods of analysis and diagnosis of biofilms
• resistance/virulence of biofilms
• economic/clinical impact of biofilms
• future on biofilm studies

This will allow attendees to get an overview of the impact of biofilms in both medicine and industry and to acquire the enough knowledge to address their study.

ESCMID provides a number of attendance grants for ESCMID “young scientist members”. The grant covers the registration fee, but not travel or accommodation costs. Please apply here before 30 June 2016. Applicants will be informed about their acceptance by 1 September 2016.
