The main target of this meeting will be to review the new findings in the field of biofilm-based infections in acute and long-term care facilities and to keep participants informed on the most recent anti-biofilm strategies to counteract biofilm-growing microorganisms, with special emphasis to the emerging multidrug-resistant ones. Particularly, microbiologists, hygienists and infectious diseases clinicians will be updated on the state-of-art of biofilm-based infections related to the implant of medical devices, to the microbial colonization of pressure ulcers and other wounds, as well as to the prosthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery.
