We are glad to announce the 1st International Workshop on Clinical Pharmacology of Antifungal Drugs and Fungal Diseases, to be held on 26 April 2013 in Berlin, Germany, preceding the ECCMID 2013. Given the many existing and new compounds in the field of fungal diseases, a lot of research is being performed which will lead to new perspectives. In order to bring the field forward, it is important that new data is presented, analyzed and discussed among experts in the field. Whereas there is a possibility to submit research in this area to major international conferences, we feel that this research area could benefit from a smallscale focused scientific meeting in order to allow in-depth discussion and debate among experts in this field on the latest developments and implications. Furthermore this focused meeting will aim at translating these complex scientific findings to clinical practice in order to allow treating clinicians to apply their newly acquired knowledge in their daily care.
This one-day international abstract-driven scientific and educational workshop will consist of invited lectures, oral abstract and poster viewing session and clinical case presentations. In order to ascertain an interactive workshop setting, much time will be allocated to Q&A sessions and discussions.
