HIV Update 2011

The HIV Update course is a comprehensive Continuing Medical Education program specifically designed for physicians and other health care professionals who care for HIV-infected patients and have an interest in learning the latest advances in treating HIV/AIDS.

In this course you will:
Review the current standards of care in monitoring and treating patients with HIV infection from the asymptomatic stage through the various clinical manifestations.
Assess recent advances in the field, e.g. genotypic and phenotypic testing, new antiretroviral agents, approach to initial treatment and salvage therapy, challenging populations, gender issues in HIV, community acquired MRSA epidemiology and treatment.
Review new information about long-term complications including hepatitis and malignancies.
Analyze the wide range of manifestations in HIV disease; the findings with which patients most typically present to their primary care provider in the outpatient setting will be stressed.
Have ample opportunity to ask questions and to interact with the experienced faculty of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and invited guest faculty.
